Being a mom has taught me a lot of things about life, caring for a life, and being the strong mother that she needs. I had my first daughter on January 5th , 2017. I was overseas away from all family and friends, so I didn’t get to cherish that lovely moment of warmth and love from my mother being there beside me. But, I held it together and stayed strong because I had my WONDERFUL husband by my side each step of the way which is something that some people may not have. Even though my mother was not in the delivery room with me, she stayed on the phone the whole time coaching me through and crying tears of joy when she heard my daughters cry.
No-one in my family had a chance to experience my first pregnancy. Just viewing pictures that I posted and calling on video chat. At the time we didn’t have the money for me to travel home nor could anyone come over to me. I think that is the hardest thing about being a military wife, having to move away from your love ones, getting pregnant, and no-one gets to spend that time with you and see you. Other than that I loved my pregnancy and thankful for being able to carry her to term with no complications in the end. We love her so much and can’t wait to give her a brother or sister.
